Getting started

Kelp is a Mac app for browsing and moving files in Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2 and Hetzner Object Storage. This page gets you from download to your first bucket.

Install Kelp

  1. Download the .dmg file.
  2. Open it and drag Kelp into your Applications folder.
  3. Open Kelp. If macOS says it can't check the app, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.

Add your first connection

  1. Get an access key from your provider. The guides for Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2 and Hetzner show where to find one.
  2. In Kelp, choose Add connection and pick your provider.
  3. Paste your access key ID and secret access key, and fill in the settings from the guide.
  4. Choose Test connection. When it succeeds, choose Save.

Kelp saves your secret access key in the macOS Keychain. It's never written to a settings file or a log.
